Dr. Wolverton teaches introductory courses in botany and upper level courses in plant physiology and mycology. His research focuses on how plants integrate signals like light, touch, and gravity to influence their growth and development. His lab uses a combination of molecular genetics, biophysics, and real-time computer image analysis to uncover the mechanisms driving differential growth in plants. On occasion, he has even sent plants into microgravity on board the U.S. Space Shuttle. |
